Bugzilla Queries

Finding Bugs Already Filed

Project Owner: ctalbertMozQA Badge

Project Details

If you need to find whether a bug has been filed already, or you are looking for a specific bug in Bugzilla here are three links you can use:
Basic Search: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
Specific Bug Search: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi?format=specific
Advanced Search Form: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi?format=advanced

In the basic search the words entered will match any entries in the Summary, Keywords, Product, Component, Status Whiteboard fields. If you are new to Bugzilla, the most relevant field to search will probably be the Summary, which, ideally, captures the essence of the bug report.
For example, if you experienced a crash while using the NoScript add-on, you can enter "noscript crash" in the basic search form, and you should get a list of open bugs whose summary contains the words "noscript" and/or "crash." The Specific Bug Search does a similar thing, but it allows you to select the status of the bug (Open vs Closed, for example), as well as the Product under which it should look. This can narrow down your search even further. The Advanced Search Form allows you to search for bugs with the most options to narrow down your search. This could, however, be a little frustrating, because you are given many options to choose from. As you become more adept at searching for specific bugs, you will learn to appreciate the degree of granularity that the advanced search form allows you to search by.
Finally, if you are an advanced user, you can take a look at the following page which has an explanation of shortcuts that you can use to narrow down bug queries while using the basic search field: For advanced users: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=quicksearchhack.html

Error Reports

Bug report 457483 is still a real issue. I currently have a laptop with Vista Home Premium Edition. It happens whenever two windows are open, and https type pages are NOT relevant in this case simple yahoo.com or circuit city.com windows cause it.

Re:

This is not the place to talk about bug reports. Please use that bug report to do that.
