Fx 3.5.2 under Windows 7 RTM x64
Since august the 22 nd I'm having troubles with Fx3.5.2 under Windows 7 x64 (7600 16385 (RTM)). It crashes regurlarly at random. Sometimes when Starting, or just hoovering tabs, clicking a link or restarting after a crash, just after sending a report and even in safe mode.
It drives me quite crazy. I've tried disabling add-ons en starting them up 1 by 1, the same with plug-ins and theme's, with no result. Today it came to me that may-be the problem is GMail, as this is my startpage, and I decided to open that in Chrome in the future. The first thing Chrome did when I opened GMail was chrash. Now without GMail open in a tab, Fx hasn't crashed on me today (fingers crossed, knock on wood)
May-be you can do something with this info,I've send the crash reports with the same e-mail adres as is this post (in case somebody is interested)

BAAAAALL---- MEERRRRR!!!!
I've running FF on Win 7 build 7100 x64 for 3 weeks and until I installed Minefield, FF was just about unusable. Facebook was a good test. Ajaxy things photo galleries and comments stalled, didn't render or just hung. I've been a Safari man for the last few weeks (and will be using Safari even more regularly until Firebug for FF3.7 is out. I will remain with Firefox as my default browser for now.
BTW- This code name Minefield business with the fuse sticking out of the earth logo has to go. Whose idea was that? Terrible.
I blame Balmer.

Cache Hell!!
omg!! what a frustrating experience. I am using windows 7 build 7600 ultimate x64 and firefox has now become useless!! 1. have to keep clearing the cache to see any updates to any site 2. gmail just about works 3. facebook crashes 4. even this site failed to load, including this text box 5. I develop all my sites in joomla and it has serious caching problems, because when ever save settings it saves the previous form data instead of what i just entered. weird!!

Gmail and Facebook sluggish on FF 3.5.2/Win7
While FF itself runs fine on Win7, I'm having trouble with Facebook, and in particular Gmail. FB is annoyingly sluggish, Gmail unbearingly so.
Will test on the very latest FF snapshot soon.

Firefox 3.5.2 on Windows 7 RC 7100 (x64)
I also am trying to use firefox 3.5.2 on my 64bit version of windows 7 but am having trouble with firefox freezing and then hanging unable to be closed. I had no trouble at all with the 32bit version. I notice that also some link will not work as expected and that some will keep refreshing without saving my changes. I use only adblock and download statusbar with firefox in private browsing mode. internet explorer does not have these same issues, the websites work fine.

Firefox hangs very frequently
Firefox 3.5.2 hangs very frequently on Windows 7 RC Build 7100. The surprising thing is that it cannot even be killed within the task manager. Even though in task manager the process can be stopped and disappears from the list firefox can still not be restarted. When clicking on it just the little turning wheel shows up for a while, then disappears and this was it. Taskmanager how shows firefox as running again, it can be killed in task manager, but then the same procedure starts all over again. The only way to get it working again is to reboot the computer. Interesting: when firefox has been killed in the Taskmanger neither it nor windows explorer can be restarted!
What could be the reasons for this behavior, what could be done about it?

Firefox 3.5.1 - When I tried to update to .2 it no longer would connect. I rolled back to 5 min before my update (bac to .1) then it worked. Also the .6 build I just installed is not connecting to the net.

Regarding Firefox in Windows 7
Hello
I currently use Firefox 3.5.1, English (US) and Windows 7 (Build 7600) and i had some problems, after i removed a password in saved passwords menu, it wouldn't offer to remember any other passwords, eventhough there was no site saved in exceptions. I solved this after several clean reinstalls, still i have a minor problem, it won't save in the bookmarks menu any site icon (the little logo next to the bookmark name), at an earlier install it worked, but now it doesn't.
Best regards.

This isn't just in 3.5.1, the leak has been in every FF buid since 1.0 and so far, has never ever been fixed. I to, see this as a critical problem that needs immediate correction.
I doubt it'll happen though.

Massive Memory Leakage in 3.5
I am totally new to this whole scene of Firefox development and protocol, so be kind if this isn't where this belongs and just show me the way, if you'd be so kind. ;-)
I just want to draw attention to what I see as a critical problem, massive memory grabs that aren't being released when tabs/windows are closed.
It's not uncommon for me to see the firefox process grow to envelop a third of two gigs of memory with just four tabs/windows open. Worse yet, closing all but one only returns maybe 20% of the memory.
I see that 3.5.1 has just been pushed out, and that 3.6.x are ongoing, so if this is something that's been addressed already, then I'm sorry. If not, please let me know and I will begin looking at it!

Firefox Installs 3.6a1Pre
I am running minefield 3.6a1Pre on the latest Win7 RC. When I try to download any themes or addons from mozilla nothing occurs. I am allowed to select and the install appears. But when clicking on install now nothing happens and it goes to a blank Add-Ons Window.
Also, when clicking on a link from my google home pages a tab will open with the new content but the web address remains my home page. When closing the tab, it actually close the tab you that is not currently active.

Firefox Jumplists in Windows 7
I'm using FF 3.5 b4 in Windows 7 RC (build 7100), and for the jump list of firefox I only see 'recent' items, which are pictures I've saved/downloaded or static html files opened locally. It would be really nice to change this to actual frequently visited webpages which I could then pin to the jump list. Currently it's of no use to me.
The tabs preview (similar to IE8) and the tasks like 'new tab' or 'private browsing' (again, like IE8) are also good ideas to implement in the near future.

Minimizing Firefox on Win7
I noticed that in Win7 when you minimize IE8 then hover over the minimized icon it shows you a live tile for each tab that is open in that session of IE. When you try to do the same with Firefox you only get one tile regardless of how many tabs you have open. This is not cricital but a nice feature that I hope is carried over to Firefox.

Minimizing Firefox on Win7
According to James Ross at Mozilla’s Bugzilla, you can prevent Windows Live Messenger 2009 (14) from popping up when minimizing Firefox by throwing this very simple fix into Firefox’s About:Config
Type About:Config in your Firefox address bar, click past the warning.
Right click the list, choose New –> Boolean.
Input config.trim_on_minimize into the Window that pops up, then set it to true.

Messenger and firefox
I'm runing the windows 7 RC now, and I'm having the same issue with live messenger since the Windows 7 beta and other builds, when a firefox window is minimized, the mesenger windows comes up, this happens with several firefox versions, at least from firefox 3, I dont know if happens with previous versions.
And like bcamarneiro says, the problem is firefox because its the only application that causes this.
And also hope to see win 7 integration in firefox

Preview Windows
It runs fine, just the the only thing i really have noticed, is the taskbar preview windows and windows 7. Now, in IE8, you preview all tabs that are open, but in Mozilla you can only preview the one which is selected.
It would be nice if say, you had 4 tabs open, you could have 4 preview windows.
Thanks

Hi I have installed Firefox
Hi
I have installed Firefox 3.0.6 on Windows 7 and it runs well so far. The problem I have is changing the default profile. Can anyone tell me where 7 stores the profiles? There seems to be some data in the program installation file which could be profile info. But I haven't a clue how to change it.
Any help would be most welcome

download problem if download folder opened in explorer
Hi,
I'm running FF 3.1b2 on win7b and i have this problem: if the download folder is open in explorer, FF is unable to correctly save the downloaded file (applies only to *.exe file) and aborts with the error "you do not have sufficient permission to rename file ... ". I'm left with a <filename>.exe of 0 byte which cannot be deleted and a <filename>.exe.part that is actually the complete downloaded file. My antivirus is avast free.
cheers

Same problem with 3.0.6
Windows 7, with Firefox 3.0.6
I have the same problem, but it's not always reproducible and for me it's not related to the download folder being opened or closed.
It's not related to DownloadStatusBar, other extensions or the download location (desktop vs somewhere else).
It's not related to Administrative privileges because it does the same thing with an Administrator and normal User account, with and without UAC.
It's not related to an antivirus because I don't have one installed. Defender, Firewall and Security Center are disabled via services.msc but it doesn't matter since it did it also before.
The zero-byte file cannot be deleted but it will go away on its own (I'm not kidding, it vanishes) in a few minutes after Firefox is closed.
The .part file is complete and correct, renaming it manually to .exe works.
This issue is annoying but I suspect has nothing to do with Firefox, the error console showed a big problem in a .js file but I couldn't say if it was related to that.
Cheers
Roberto

UI bugs
There are a couple of UI issues:
1. Buttons, Larry and Search Selector seem to be missing the button image background.
2. Menus seem to have an odd fade transition which looks a bit odd compared to Vista which has no fade.
It runs really well, obviously no support for the new bells and whistles.

Firefox is running superbly
Firefox is running superbly on Windows 7, however i have had a few issues when downloading files.
I've had to install several plugins and my printer driver. Every time after the download finishes, Firefox scans for viruses, it then freezes and stops responding. At that point windows prompts me to close the program; and even after selecting to close firefox it still will not close. Only a restart of the system seems to solve this problem.

VirusScan file download hang
I have seen the same behavior with 3.1 beta2, and downloading files (specifically .exe files) and a firefox hang that requires an O/S reboot to clear.
I happen to be running the Norton 360 Beta on Windows 7, so I am attempting to duplicate with Norton AV scanning disabled. There are similar reports here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1022075
I can not repro with Norton 360 AV disabled, and browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone;true I will try more variations and see if I can narrow it down.

Just starting testing, but one comment.
I think it would be great if Mozilla could design firefox so that when minimized, each tab is shown as an icon when the cursor moves over the minimized icon. Similar to how IE works.

Have had problems
I ran into some rather nasty problems. I installed Firefox on a local admin account. It seemed to work fine. Then I joined my computer to an AD domain. Things went haywire after I restarted. I got disk corruption messages. I launched Firefox on a domain account and it didn't even start. No error. No process in Task Manager. Nothing. Even IE was no where to be found. I returned to the local admin account. Firefox that had been pinned to the taskbar was no a white blank page icon. Clicking it said the target could not be found. Opening firefox from the desktop icon started firefox, but no home page was loaded despite one being set. Also, the google search in the toolbar didn't work.
IE still works fine though. Is this microsoft foul play or something else? Probably not. Seems like just Windows Beta issues.

Regarding Firefox in Windows 7
Hello
I am currently running the latest Firefox version (3.0.5, English (US)) in Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000) with no problems whatsoever. It runs exactly like it did when I was using Vista.
